So I'm in balmy NC (visiting the homestead) instead of in chilly Michigan. But we've got an overcast, rainy pattern for a few days, so I had planned to go to the gym again today.
But our schedule got a little jammed and my only opportunity for some miles would be too short for the gym, so off to the park I went for my first outdoor, pavement run/walk since I started training with Team Voice!
I quickly realized it wasn't as chilly as I thought, so I had to take off my sweatshirt. So now I was about to run carrying a phone, a water bottle and a sweatshirt! But it was actually okay.
I did a 5-min walking warm-up, then a 20-min run, then a 5-min cool down. Two things I noticed right away: (1) It was waaaay more interesting moving forward and seeing the scenery change (unlike treadmill). (2) I could actually "feel" the small dips and swells in the pavement as I ran. That was pretty neat, because as a walker, I can't say that I ever felt that before.
I'll run outside again on Sunday, for a longer amount of time and a longer distance. I can't wait to see how it goes!

Great Job on AATM yesterday. Lot's of great info and it was neat to put at least a voice to the name.
I am glad to hear you made it outside. What we all miss is all the smells and things going on when we get to jog/walk.
